“Who Knows, Who Cares,” Local Natives
I was watching the Coachella livestream of Local Natives and all of a sudden I got really nostalgic for Gorilla Manor. So I’ve been listening to it since last night and reminiscing about the soaring vocals and the general upbeat attitude of the entire album. I remember when I downloaded Hummingbird I was kind of disppointed that they felt like they lost that sound and felt a lot more somber. So I looked up what Pitchfork had to say about the two albums (go read them) and I get now why Hummingbird sounds the way it does. Life happened. I don’t know, man. I think knowing that now, Gorilla Manor’s just going to sit different knowing that its basically just a time capsule to the past now.
